About Me

My Story
My Philosophy

I was raised in a large family with more brothers than I can count on one hand. As the little sister to all but one, I was christened as the mascot of our close-knit team. I was thrilled to play this prestigious role, and along with this honor came what I saw at the time as a life brimming with possibility and privilege.

I was—by nature and nurture—a determined girl; although I tried to keep up with the family football squad, I was often assigned the highly-esteemed position (or so I thought) of written record keeper. It didn't take me long to embrace that the role of team historian and wordsmith was superior to playing quarterback or running back.

Once christened as the family writer, I became the official greeting card author for most holidays. I was known to write clever and catchy messages to my older brothers' sweethearts—happily letting the boys take credit for some seriously profound professions of adolescent love. When school papers were due, I prided myself on assisting my siblings in writing elaborate—and likely inaccurate—mini-tomes about German history and particle theory.

I may now look at things with a somewhat modified adult viewpoint, but I am still grateful to carry along with me these early "word" memories. Certainly, my deepest connections and fondest memories stem from them.

In the end, I understand that writing of any sort is an intensely personal process; as with any creative endeavor, it requires a great deal of courage to share the results with the world. Be assured that I will not only provide a skilled and thorough evaluation of your writing, but I will also offer you that extra bit of encouragement as you move through this sometimes seemingly daunting process.
